some of my DIY wrapped friendship bracelets & wire rings. i had to include my homemade ice cream cupcake which was delicious. haha.
last month, i finished painting cody's room. the wall that's shown was hand painted by yours truly. it took longer than i'd expected but ms. perfectionist over here wanted everything to be p.e.r.f.e.c.t. & proportional. haha. & since then, i've been crazy busy planning his 4th birthday party which is coming up next weekend! it's quite obvious he loves superheroes! can't wait to post about it. :)

if you are following me on instagram, you'll know that i stole this shirt from cody. i honestly didn't have a tshirt to wear ... & well, he didn't mind. hehe

guilty pleasures. @ 11:42 AM

simply put, this is just a ploy to get you to tell me about your guilty pleasures.
i'll put down my pride and go first...
1. books. || i can never get enough of good reads. one day, i'll have my own library in my house... ya know, a secret library with hidden bookcase doors, vintage books from wall to wall, & the whole sha-bang. when it comes to romance novels, i realize the revulsion many feel when even thinking about the stereotyped, mushy-gushy stuff, but hear me out! i read a particularly ridiculous and trashy one and loved it, to my chagrin. the ridiculous titles make my eyes roll, but every once in a while... i get sucked into the romantic escape they provide. they may be silly, with, more often than not, less-than-stellar writing, but i don't mind. i don't feel guilty for all the books i've read. i'm only guilty of not buying enough.
2. criminal minds. || i rarely watch tv... but when i do, i'm hooked watching criminal minds. don't even get me started on the all-day marathons they have. i would die before i admit it, but i'm in with love matthew gray gubler's character {dr. spencer reid} ... nerd alert. no joke. either way, the show's amazing. matthew/dr. reid too. or both. go figure.
3. desserts/sweet treats. || i have a husband who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth as i do. i guess i'm sort of lucky eh? otherwise, we'd be fighting over this delectable treat {pink velvet cupcake} that i am happily consuming as i type this! sweets are definitely one of my weaknesses. has anyone seen my thin mints?
4. rockin out in the privacy of my own car. || seriously, what is better than a beautiful day with the windows down in the car, great music playing & rockin' out on air guitar? okay... wow, i am totally embarrassed to have just admitted that. c'mon... air guitar, who does that {besides my 3 year old}?! apparently, i do. eeks.
5. shoes. || i know, total cliche. but having too much is never enough, be that as it may, my wallet & husband doesn't seem to agree.
6. food. || thai... japanese... american or whatever. i'm a big foodie. as long as it's GOOD eats, i'm down. & i get to indulge it everrryday. can't complain about that!
7. not waking up to an alarm clock. || cody is all the alarm that i need. it's a joy to wake up to, "mommy, i need to go pee." lol.
8. 60's, 70's & 80's oldies music. || i grew up listening to songs that were released before my time. it must have rubbed off on me somewhere along the line because i love oldies to death. late at night when the oldies greatest hits infomercials are on, i feel slightly ashamed as i jot down the number to call later so i could order their CD's. but honestly, i don't know anyone else my age who knows the lyrics to america's "a horse with no name" & "i need you", bread's "make it with you", & gilbert o'sullivan's "alone again" but okay, i'm not going to mention all my faves but you get the drift.
9. star wars. lotr. harry potter. twilight. || yup. i love it all. need i say more?
10. movie theatre popcorn drenched with extra butter. || this is probably my greatest guilt. i always look forward to the popcorn whenever we go to the movies. it's salty, greasy & buttery... all mixed in its deliciousness. the satisfying crunch and the explosion of guilty flavors. so nom worthy. even the atmosphere screams of guilty pleasure: you take this giant tub of overpriced butter, salt, and popcorn into a dark room where anonymity rules, and then you indulge! you can't even see what you're eating, just adding to the indulgence... i mean, if i can't see it, the calories don't count, right? movie theatre popcorn should be in the guilty pleasure hall of fame.
last but not least...
no matter where i am, out about in town or hanging out at home... it's always delightful sharing a special moment with ones i love. guilty pleasures come in many forms. and i love being more in love each day... with my two main squeeze, cody & will.
guilty pleasures put colors in our lives... am i right or am i wrong?

helloooo gorgeous! good morning & happy monday to you all :)
here's to my 1st post of may! it's going to be a BUSY month, that's for sure!
so, i took these pictures ever since last week but never got the chance to post them due to laziness. {*cue in "the lazy song" - bruno mars} since i moved out of my parents house {a looong time ago}, my room was cleaned out. all that's left, were the furniture -- the bed, the tv, the desk, etc. but every time i visit my parents, i always find myself refurbishing the room and making it a little more homey.
let's start with the framed chalkboard; it's one of my all time favorite flea market finds. i got such a goooood deal on it & i'm so glad that i went back to purchase it! these days, i have a strong affinity for anything chalkboard related. you'll see what i mean in a few days!
i was asked about how i organize my accessories. well, i like to display them in the silver trays {also flea market finds} ... and the ones i don't really wear, i store them in the small trunks i found at michaels craft store. not so much organized but it'll do for the mean time. & for when i travel, i use my trusted aluminum make-up case to store them. fancy, huh? i must've looked like some make-up guru carrying the case around but i'm far from it. lolol. i swear to you, i have an obsession with accessories ... and nail polish. & since last week, i've added more to the non-stop growing collections. yikes. i think i should stop, well... i know i should stop since i'm sort of limited to what i can pack to bring back home this upcoming friday. :(
& can you tell? i'm finally audacious enough to add some colors into my wardrobe! heh. most of the bright colored pieces are vintage goodies that i've found here in socal. :)
well, this is basically where i ... blog, create, design, & dream -- with passion, with intention, & with love.

today felt like summer. & i loooooved it. my go-to pieces for this type of weather consist of sheer blouses, jean shorts & sandals. simple.
though i had many errands to run today, i started my day sort of late. it's been a weekly routine -- restaurant. market. (downtown LA & garden grove) pick up my niece. home. work. projects. because i've been itching to get my laptop working, i finally went out & purchased a new ac adapter. i didn't know that they cost so much. sheesh! i could've spent it on shoes. lol speaking of which, i still have only 3 pairs (of heels/boots) while i'm here on this visit. SO proud of myself.
i'm already looking forward to next month! i get to see my handsome hubby after a month and 13 days!! :) i'm beyond excited & i'm sure cody is just as happy to see his daddy tomorrow too.

{1. dreeaaamy free people flutter top; 2. like i give a frock by michi girl - left me laughing so hard on the floor; 3. outfit of the day; 4. h&m shirt, f21 shorts & aldo wedges; 5. dad's old leather satchel; 6. my new favorite coil wrap bracelet & coral trapeze blouse; 7. fell in love with these whimsical blouses featuring dots, feather & florals}
i discovered my dad's old genuine leather satchel hidden away in the closet. i quickly became obsessed with it & it is now my favorite bag. ever. it goes beautifully with just about any outfit. what i love most about this bag is the history behind it. lets just say, it was used to convey hundreds & hundreds of thousands baht back in the day (baht = thai money) which is equivalent to only about 10k US dollars but... i like the sound of hundreds of thousands better. heh. & since my dad's not here right now, i'm planning to make it mine for a few more weeks. :)
a lot of people have been asking what kind of cameras do i use and how do i edit my pictures. i use a canon rebel t2i and a sony cybershot (point & shoot)... & i always process my pictures using adobe photoshop. i think in the next few days, i'm going to vamp up a tutorial to share with you all. sounds good? hope so!

katy perry - e.t. -- mmmmm, that song is so damn addicting.
been feeling unmotivated. hate the weird socal weather. missing my husband oh so much. the kids are driving me nuts. everyone's getting sick. so glad i'm not. (let's not jinx it though.) damn car battery died. work work work. bills bills bills. so tired. all i want to do is to have some time for myself... take bubble baths & just forget about everything else. but oh so soo sooo glad to see my friends this past week. i've missed them dearly.
{waiting at the airport, the beautiful sky on the drive to the OC, fruits & waffle dessert, gotta love socal traffic, nice piece of wood, the kids 'cheering', cupcake wasted, why i love california, my go-to kinna outfit; tshirt & jeans shorts}
tgif. no, really. i FINALLY get to relax a bit now that one project is done. :) i feel accomplished.

i took these shots last week while we were hiking up to the top of mount davidson on a beaaautiful sunny afternoon. i seriously don't visit the sites around me enough. there are so many places that i never knew existed and i've been living here for over a year!
mount davidson is san francisco's highest hill. soaring above the city at 938 feet, i felt like i was standing on top of the world... away from the city, the busy streets, the noise... etc etc. just imagine this, the whole mountain is laced with many trails and paths to explore and it also happens to be the home of a huuuuge cross at its summit.
the scent of the eucalyptus trees still lingers...
{yes, i'm homesick.}
the last picture was taken in front of our house. it had just stopped raining that day. the moon and the clouds were dancing just for me.

the calm after the storm. @ 11:54 AM

Long story short, i hit a deer on the 5fwy while we were driving back up. {terrifying & sad! but glad that we're all okay} had to tow my car 88 miles back to my parents house. so now i'm stuck in LA while the hubby is back up in SF. we miss him terribly. & i also miss blogging. i don't have a computer so i'm sneaking onto my brother's. hehe. it's such a pain. i only have a few selection of clothes here that's on rotation for a period of 3 weeks when it's suppose to be only a week. the good thing about the accident? i get an extra two weeks to enjoy being here with my family and friends.
anyway, gotta run. i've been so drained out lately with the kids. my niece and my little monster. they are soooo much trouble when they're together. i need time to relax. oy. & i can't wait for my car to be fixed!
hoping to be back and blog soon! have a wonderful time holiday shopping. 'tis the season ... :)
